Where do I even begin with this magical wedding...
Nicky & Lucas planned a downright family affair. The entire day had a 'Sunday afternoon at Grandmas with comfort food and hugs galore' kinda feel. The day was captured by Keegan Cronin and oh my lord did he capture it perfectly. The gallery is a story that tells itself, from the minute you enter the cast iron gates at Stanley Park you are in awe. The house itself is incredible, whether you choose to use the accommodation or not it creates an amazing backdrop for your ceremony under the fig tree or down by the water.
The house has the facilities to host the bridal party, whether you want to be traditional and stay apart until the ceremony or have the entire bridal party together. The games room on the main floor has a pool table, full kitchen, spa and sunroom which makes the perfect location for make up with the natural light absolutely perfect of a morning!
The convenience of staying on site the night before the wedding takes the stress away from organising travel, getting to the venue the day before to setup and worrying about travelling to and from the morning of.
Stanley Park truly is a gem and Nicky & Lucas knew they had found a winner, creating the perfect morning hangout to kick off the day of their dreams!
On this particular day the weather didn't know what it wanted to do. The game plan was to hold the ceremony under the iconic fig tree, the back up plan was the barn. Nicky held out until the last minute to make the call, ultimately deciding what's a bit of rain and sticking with the fig tree for her ceremony location. Jaya bargwanna - Celebrant was on hand to help carry the last few chairs to the ceremony and kept Nicky super calm.
Nathan Lomonaco kept the guests entertained while Lucas waited for the lady of the hour to emerge from the balcony. With her bridesmaids, flower girls and page boy in tow, Nicky was a vision in an off the shoulder gown carrying the most amazing bouquet of quicksand roses and orchids with a touch of burgundy by Floral Affects. Her hair was swept to the side with romantic waves and a statement hair clip. She was a classic goddess!
Even their fur baby made an appearance, how could they get married without this darling by their side?
While Nicky & Lucas wandered the grounds of Stanley Park with Photo legend Keegan, their guests ventured to the barn on the property where the party really started.
We were perched up at the barn ready to pop bottles and shake cocktails rain, hail or shine. Nathan Lomonaco was dropping acoustic magic while the sun set and Sprout Catering looked after the good stuff, keeping bellies warm and mouths full.
Nicky chose a blueberry mojito for her cocktail hour, Lucas' choice was Carlton Dry on tap. The rest of the afternoon was filled with canapés, cocktails, lawn games and oh so much love! Nicky & Lucas joined the party just in time, dinner was served buffet style with share plates passed around the tables, just like at home.
The formalities didn't take long, a quick few words from Nicky & Lucas and it was dance floor time!
Nathan Lomonaco took the party from a chill afternoon to an all out rager! The barn is large enough to accommodate an indoor dance floor with plenty of room to cut a rug! Keegan stuck around the capture the moves with things getting a little weird earlier than expected. From someone who has been to hundreds of weddings I will vouch for the fact that Stanley Park weddings are one of a kind. Guests are a whole new type of relaxed!
Until next time lovers. x
